ONE-Day WHEEL THROWING (AGES 12 AND UP)
Give Wheel Throwing a Try!
So you've always wanted to try a wheel throwing class... Now is your chance! This class is only one day, for 2.5 hours, so that you can give it a try!
Details: All inclusive one-day class: all tools, apron, and instruction will be provided, and we will trim, glaze & fire your piece(s) for you afterwards. $98
You will be allowed to keep up to 2 pieces, and you will be notified when they are ready for pick up in approximately 3-4 weeks after your class!
If you do this class and realize that you LOVE wheel throwing, please get on our waiting list for the 6-week, more intensive, classes.
6 WEEK BEGINNER WHEEL THROWING (ADULTS, AGES 16+)
We currently have a waiting list for most of our Beginner Classes. If you would like to be notified when there are available spots, please email us by clicking on the link below. Also, please indicate in your email if you have ever taken a One-Day Wheel Class.
Details: 6-week Beginner Wheel Class, all inclusive (tools, clay, firing, glazing & some additional open studio time*) $375
These classes will be the same day/time every week for six weeks and Mondays are open studio time* (from 1pm to 8pm) for anyone enrolled in a class. Classes are kept small so space is limited!
Currently, classes for beginner wheel throwing are being offered on:
- Thursday afternoon 11am-2pm
- Friday evening 6-9pm
- Saturday morning 10am-1pm
This class is for BEGINNERS (those with little or no experience, or those re-learning the wheel after an extended absence from throwing). No production work or advanced potters will be allowed in this class.
*Open studio (on Mondays) is for PRACTICE only. This is not time for additional instruction or to produce new pieces. This time is for practicing the techniques that you learned in class, so you will not be allowed to keep anything new produced during Open Studio.
Intermediate & advanced WHEEL THROWING (ADULTS, AGES 16+)
We are now offering our Intermediate & Advanced Wheel Workshops to the Public! If you have never attended one of our wheel classes before, please shoot us an email and let us know your experience level.
PREREQUISITES: Adult Class (ages 16 and up). Student must be at an intermediate or advanced level of throwing before signing up for this class (able to throw a 10" cylinder & center 3 lbs of clay). If you are new to our studio, we will need to find out your experience level before you can take this class.
SUMMER CLAY CAMPS (AGES 10-16): beginner Wheel throwing
Summer Clay Camps: Beginner Wheel Throwing & Intro to Hand-building, Ages 10-16
These camps are designed to get our youth engaged in the art of ceramics and throwing pottery on the wheel. These fun & engaging classes will be a bright spot in their summer!
This camp is designed for students with little to no experience on the wheel, but welcome those with experience as well. It will run from Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 11:15am. Open to ages 10-16, $250/week. Students may register for just one week to learn basic wheel throwing, or up to THREE weeks for a more immersive and complete clay experience! All tools, materials, glazing, firings, etc. are included. LIMITED SEATING: ONLY 8 SPOTS PER CAMP!
- Registration for ONE week will be structured to concentrate on learning the mechanics of wheel throwing and have a light introduction to "hand-building."
- Registration for TWO weeks will give the student the ability to build upon their skills for wheel throwing, as well as provide them the opportunity to do additional "hand-building" projects with clay, if they desire (we will tailor the second week towards what they enjoy doing and what they want to learn).
- Registration for THREE weeks will offer the student additional opportunities to build upon their wheel-throwing skillset, create hand-building projects, AND glaze their own pieces!
