Welcome to Happy Life Pottery! We are both a teaching studio and an art/gift boutique store. Stop in today to visit our beautiful, creative space and do some shopping, sign up for a class, or both!
We offer more than just pottery! We feature a variety of art pieces and jewelry from artists who are local, national, and international. Additionally, we offer a variety of home & gift items to sprinkle into the mix so that our selection is fun and varied. We truly have a little something for everyone!
Wednesday -Saturday: 10am to 6pm
Sunday: 12pm to 5pm
Although we produce some beautiful pottery for our store, we are also a teaching studio. We love the natural combination of creativity with a social atmosphere that our classes offer, and it is our absolute joy to see our students' inner artists unleashed!
For those who are interested in the pottery wheel, we currently focus on beginners or those who are re-learning the wheel after an extended absence from throwing. If you are an experienced potter who is looking for some open studio time, we are in the process of looking for an additional space so that we can accommodate your needs in the near future!
We also offer a variety of other clay classes that do not involve the wheel, so be sure to also check out the classes for Studio Pottery Projects & Glass Jewelry/Mosaic.
Because we are a small studio and also give sign-up priority to our current students, please be advised that some classes fill up quickly!
Happy Life Pottery is a labor of love brought to you by David and Amy Stellato.
After leaving his corporate career, David discovered and fell in love with the art of making pottery while living in Austin, Texas, in 2014. Shortly afterwards, this creative outlet served as a source of joy even throughout his most difficult year of battling Stage 4 cancer.
In 2016, David met Amy, another artist who had similarly just left her corporate career in search of a more "Happy Life." Together, they aspired to use their business and art backgrounds to help bring more joy and creativity into the world together.
Shortly afterwards, life threw another curveball when they learned David's mother had cancer and had been given only a 13% chance of survival. They immediately moved to California to care for her, and when she recovered, they resumed their plans - but this time, in beautiful California!
Now David and Amy have fulfilled their dream in beautiful downtown Benicia! We hope you will be inspired with your own passion and enthusiasm for the art of pottery by taking a class, shopping, or both!
There are numerous studies that show how expressing creativity positively impacts an individual's health, as well as the community which surrounds them. Our mission is to facilitate joy by opening up as many people as possible to one of our favorite mediums of creative expression: clay!
