Precious Metal Clay Jewelry Classes & Workshops
Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is an exciting medium invented by a scientist in Japan, working for the Mitsubishi Corporation, during the early 1990’s. It has grown in popularity since it provides an opportunity for creative expression for those people who might otherwise not be able to design real silver (and other precious metal) jewelry with traditional silversmith methods.
In these workshops, you will be learning to work with this material, referred to as "clay." After you design your jewelry, it is fired in a kiln and the binders in the "clay" burn away leaving you with pure, precious metal jewelry! So this is NOT pottery jewelry with a metallic finish--it is pure bronze, silver or copper jewelry!
Linda Bodie has been an amazing ceramic artist for many years creating functional and decorative pottery, and is a certified Precious Metal Clay (PMC) instructor and artist.

Join artist Linda Bodie for this fun, interactive, in-person class and design your own pure Bronze, Copper & Silver Earrings and/or Pendant!
Join us for our 2-week in-person workshop in which you will be using pure silver, bronze and/or copper precious metal "clay" (PMC) to create and design a beautiful pendant and earrings for yourself or to give as special gift! This class is open to beginners, as well as those who have experience.
In this 2-Week Workshop, you will learn:
- How to use templates and textures to create your own design
- How to handle, condition, blend and shape your metal clays into your design
- How to refine and finish your pieces to get a professional look
- How to do beading if you prefer to use beads instead of a chain for your pendant
So join us to create your own special, one-of-a-kind, jewelry!
Workshop Details:
- This workshop is on Sunday, June 13th & Saturday, June 19th
- 2 Week Class, 11am to 2pm
- Tuition does NOT include the Bronze, Copper or Silver PMC for your pieces. The PMC can be purchased at a discounted market price during class (approximately $15/50 grams of copper, $13/30 grams of bronze & $65/25 grams of silver). Or you may purchase your own at firemountain.com
- You can decide to make only earrings in the class, or an earring/pendant set!
- Open to beginners or those with experience
- Workshop Tuition is $120 (Includes all firings, findings, tools & textures. Does NOT include Bronze, Copper & Silver PMC)
